What happens if I consume 1kg of salt in one day?

Consuming 1 kilogram (kg) of salt in a single day is extremely dangerous and can lead to serious health problems, including high blood pressure, fluid imbalances, and death.

The human body needs a certain amount of salt to function properly, but consuming excessive amounts can lead to a dangerous condition known as hypernatremia, which occurs when the sodium levels in the blood become too high. This can cause a range of symptoms, including headache, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, confusion, seizures, and in severe cases, coma or death.

It's important to consume salt in moderation, as part of a balanced diet, and to follow the recommended daily intake guidelines. The American Heart Association recommends no more than 2,300 milligrams (mg) of sodium per day, and an ideal limit of no more than 1,500 mg per day for most adults.

If you suspect you have consumed too much salt, it's important to seek medical attention immediately.
